Peer Review Process
Initial Manuscript Screening
All manuscripts submitted to JISA (Jurnal Informatika dan Sains) must comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines. Manuscripts must demonstrate adequate scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope. The editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the suitability of each submission before proceeding to peer review. All manuscripts must be written in clear and appropriate English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek language editing assistance before submission. English language and copyediting services may be available through the Informatics Study Program at Universitas Trilogi. The availability of such services does not guarantee manuscript acceptance.
Manuscripts must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Plagiarism and Similarity Screening
All submitted manuscripts are subject to similarity screening. Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts before submission using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin. The editorial team also checks manuscript similarity using Turnitin. Similarity reports are evaluated by the editors in context, and a similarity score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred.
Peer Review Procedure
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. JISA applies a single-blind peer review system, in which reviewers know the identities of the authors, while reviewer identities are not disclosed to the authors during the review process.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript's originality, scientific contribution, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal's scope, clarity of presentation, and validity of its conclusions. Reviewers should provide constructive comments and a reasoned recommendation to assist the Editor in making an informed editorial decision. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, provide objective assessments, disclose potential conflicts of interest, and decline review assignments when they cannot assess a manuscript impartially.
Editorial Decision and Revision
The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editor, who considers the reviewers' comments, the manuscript's scientific quality, and the journal's editorial policies. Where necessary, the Editor may consult the Editorial Board or seek additional expert advice.
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts are generally evaluated by the Editor to determine whether the requested revisions have been adequately addressed. When further specialist assessment is necessary, the Editor may send a revised manuscript back to the original reviewers or invite additional reviewers.
The submission of a revised manuscript does not guarantee acceptance. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, the quality of the revisions, and the journal's publication standards. Reviewer recommendations inform the decision but do not replace the Editor's independent editorial judgment.
